MiB recently organized a stakeholder discussion session with emerging RMG exporters—factories that export below 80% of their yearly production. These factories are playing an important role in Bangladesh’s export economy and contribute to the country’s apparel exports, but are often excluded from programmes and initiatives taken by the brands, CSOs, or the NGOs.
In 2024, based on the Mapped in Bangladesh (MiB) map, CED introduced a separate digital map to highlight these factories. The site, LimitedExport.Network, provides useful information about their contributions to the industry.
In the discussion session, factory owners, managers, and officials shared their thoughts on business operations and challenges they face.
MiB believes that by listening to and supporting these emerging exporters, we can build a stronger and more inclusive RMG sector for Bangladesh.
